Our approach to your privacy

Discover Circle (“we”, “us”) is an honest guide to fertility and IVF, written from lived experience and reviewed by a specialist. If you are reading this site, you may be going through something difficult, and the last thing you need is to feel watched. So our starting point is simple: collect as little as possible, keep it for as short a time as possible, and never use it to follow you around. This policy explains what that means in practice and the choices you have.

A note on a sensitive subject

Fertility is one of the most personal things a person can search for, and we treat it that way. We keep our data practices deliberately minimal precisely because of how sensitive this topic is.

To be clear about what we do not do:

  • We do not build a profile of you, your situation, or your stage in any fertility journey.
  • We do not track you across other websites, and we use no advertising or remarketing pixels that could follow you elsewhere.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
  • We do not share anything that could reveal your interest in this topic with advertisers or data brokers.

You should be able to read about IVF, miscarriage, or trying to conceive without that interest being recorded against you. That principle shapes everything below.

Information we collect

We collect very little:

  • Anonymous usage data. Like most sites, we may see aggregated statistics such as which pages are read, an approximate region, and the type of device or browser used. This is grouped, not tied to you personally.
  • Anything you choose to send us. If you use our Contact page, we receive your message and any email address or name you include, so we can reply.
  • Standard technical data. Basic delivery information, such as an IP address, is processed by a content delivery network so pages load securely. Where analytics are used, that address is anonymised.

Please note that the personal stories on this site describe the author’s own lived experience. That content is written by us; it is not collected from or about you as a visitor.

How we use it

We use this limited information only to:

  • keep the site running, secure, and reliable;
  • understand which articles genuinely help, so we can prioritise that kind of writing; and
  • reply to messages you send us.

We do not use your information for advertising profiling, and we do not sell it.

Cookies and analytics

We keep things lean and avoid unnecessary cookies. Where we measure traffic, we use a privacy-conscious analytics provider configured to minimise what is collected — for example, with IP anonymisation and no cross-site tracking. You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings without losing access to the content.

Third parties

The site is delivered through a content delivery network and may use a privacy-conscious analytics provider. These services process limited technical data on our behalf, under our instructions, purely to serve and measure the site. We do not pass your personal information to anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep information

We keep correspondence only as long as we need it to handle your message and any follow-up, then remove it. Aggregated, anonymous analytics are kept only as long as they remain useful for understanding general trends.

A gentle request

Please do not send us personal medical or fertility details by email or contact form. We cannot give individual medical advice, and email is not a private or secure channel. If something is worrying you, your doctor or clinic is the right place to take it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the information we hold about you, and to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, get in touch through our Contact page and we will respond as the law requires.

Children’s privacy

This site is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the small amount of information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — another reason to keep sensitive details off email.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
